EXPOSITION of the Blessed Sacrament on Thursday 9-9.50am

DIOCESAN FESTIVAL: The Diocesan Festival will take place on 29th and 30th June at the Diocesan Youth Village in Consett.

BOWLING TRIP for young people of the parish: This will now take place on Sunday 9th June at 6pm.

YEAR OF FAITH: The next episode of Fr Baron`s Catholicism DVD will be shown in the hall on Tuesday 18th June at 7.30pm

Dirty Nappies A number of disposable nappies were found in the in kitchen bin in the hall. This is not the place for them.

New Parish Priest: Bishop Seamus has asked Fr Brown to move to Gateshead to parish priest at St Joseph`s and St Wilfrid`s. Fr Sean Hall will be the new parish priest at St Mary`s and SS Peter and Paul`s. It is expected the change will take place at the end of August or early September.

SS. Peter and Paul is now the North East base for “Sharing Fair.”
Parishioners are invited to a small sale of goods and information about this very worthy venture after Mass on Sunday June 9th.

Little Sisters of the Poor. Sr Rose of the Little Sisers of the Poor in Newcastle will be making an appeal to help their work on the weekend of July 6th-7th at all Masses.
FAITH SUMMERTIME: Faith, fun and adventure for 10-15 year olds at Ampleforth Abbey near York from Tuesday 23rd to Friday 26th July 2013. Cost £130. (includes all accommodation, meals, activities and outings). Highly recommended for young people looking to grow in faith. For more information please take a leaflet from the hall.

Justice & Peace Annual Conference – “Breaking Open the Word”, a call to faith in action from 19th to 21st July 2010 at Swanwick Derbyshire, transport can be organised, leaflets now available. This conference has a crèche and specially designed programmes for children and young people in families.

CAFOD’s Hungry for Change Programme – This year we have a once-in-a-decade opportunity to tackle global hunger. when the G8 leaders come to the UK at the end of June they have the power to act on global hunger IF enough of us demand urgent action. Only some are able to attend the rally at Hyde Park on 8 June, but there is still an opportunity for those of us who couldn’t, to add their voice to the campaign. CAFOD Donations: Sincere thanks for donations received of £233 for the Syria Appeal and also £970.20p for the weekly CAFOD donations from April 2012 – Mar 2013, thanks also for the standing orders in place for direct payments to CAFOD which some parishioners have in place and also over £90 was donated from your gift aid, you are generous.

Junior Justice & Peace meetings for the children take place at St Mary’s Primary on the Tuesdays after the school Mass (12.45 -1.15pm) the programme is on the notice board.
